RNPTBA Carollers

Admiral Jellicoe House hosted the RNPTBA Carollers on Tuesday 2nd December. This was our first Carol Singing event of the year and it proved very successful. Sixteen RN & EX RN Personnel volunteered, Seven Personnel Support Groupfrom Her Majesty’s Naval Base (HMNB) Portsmouth, five serving RNPTBA personnel, WOPT Tony Nash, CPOPT Helen Richardson, CPOPT Daz Hoare, Commander Gary Bushell OBE and Commodore Mike Farrage CBE and four retired PT’s Louise Shaw, Mark Harrold, Chris Bate, David Pepper plus our guest Ex Command Warrant Officer Eddie Seabourne MBE MSM

Admiral Jellicoe House is a superb new purpose built care home with dementia facilities for veterans of the Royal Navy.

The event was a great success enjoyed thoroughly by both residents and carollers, it is very important to support our own, RN & RM retired service personnel and their dependents. Our visits gave us the opportunity to talk and reminisce with the residents, the feedback was very positive from AJH management but equally from those Serving and Retired members of the RNPTBA who took away such wonderful memories.

Warrant Officer Tiny Nash
A fantastic morning Dave, the PSG lads loved it and great to bring a little cheer to the RNPTBA after a turbulent few weeks.

Daz Hoare
Absolutely brilliant loved every minute, seeing the smiles on faces.

Another important reason of our visit was to meet CPOPT Shaun ‘Chats’ Harris’ now a resident at AJH. His brother Glen is so appreciative for our visits and the contact, support we continue to give to his kid brother.

Glen Harris
As always brilliant to see. I’m sure my brother and the residents really appreciated it.

Finally it was a privilege to meet Robin Moodle aged 101 who joined HMS Ganges in 1940 as a boy seaman aged 15 and served during WW2 with great courage. Robin is still the life and the soul of all our visits to AJH.

We have future Christmas Carolling events during December which I will keep you all updated.

Thank you all for your continued support.
